Good news reached the Petrinis on the
eve of August (Ferragosto) because of the gold medal award given to each of
their organic extra virgin olive oils, from the monocultivar olive oil Raggia
di San Vito® (exclusively olives type ‘raggia’), the San Vito® olive oil (
selected olives type ‘raggia’ , ‘frantoio’ and ‘leccino’) to the Sei Colli®
olive oil (best olives type ‘frantoio’, ‘leccino’, ‘maurino’, ‘moraiolo’,
‘carboncella’, ‘rosciola’ and the unique ‘raggia’). A further Gold Medal Award
went to the most innovative Petrini plus® olive oil too. This special patented olive
oil is in fact so effective against bone calcium loss that is regularly used by
people suffering from bone diseases like osteoporosis.
A jury composed of professional tasters
did list only the best producers for the WineHunter Award 2018 according to
their superior quality and local production. This Award given to each olive
oils produced by Fattoria Petrini, is the last of the many others obtained over
the past years ; the most recent went to the San Vito® olive oil as ‘ Produit
Gourmet 2018 ‘ last April in Paris.
Thanks to such important results the
Petrini company which is located in Monte San Vito, is so far and proudly
referred to as one of the world most awarded companies at least since 1993. On
the threshold of the 30s of activity , the Petrinis remember the long path to
achieve the highest summits in terms of quality maintaining the good name of
olive oil of Marches all over the world.
Cristiano
Petrini, olive oil master, says that last harvest was a great one both in terms
of quality and quantity. He adds that it will be also remembered because of the
PGI recognition (protected geographical indication) obtained first on the olive
oil Raggia di San Vito. ‘It was my father Leonida – says Francesca – who first
made varietal selections in the 80s with just the olive type raggia grown only
in the province of Ancona in tempore non
suspecto when olive oil was used as a simple condiment with no proper
identity. Then the test panel came right after due to the strong willing of
some founders being my father one of them.’
Today Leonida
Petrini is called not only as a pioneer of the quality olive oil but also as one
of the very first olive oil producer making organic agriculture all over Italy.
Based on
these criteria Fattoria Petrini is honoured to keep continuing this tradition
as long as ancient as the land where it is located , Monte San Vito, the Town
of Olive oil in the province of Ancona.
Fattoria Petrini
The company
is a family run farm that produces prize-winning organic extra virgin olive
oils in Monte San Vito, Region Marches. Fattoria Petrini has more than 10.000
olive trees, its own oil mill and a modern bottling equipment that completes
the manufacturing process. Once harvested the olives are ground within a few
hours form the olive picking and then cold pressed. Thanks to a careful
transformation of the olives, the Petrinis obtain fresh fruity extra virgin
olive oils full of taste with a very low rate of acidity.
Francesca Petrini was
nominated as Testimonial of the Marche Region at Expo 2015 and recently awarded
with DE@TERRA 2017, 1st ranked.
